To this inexperienced collector at first glance this 1986 D LMC looks like a missing clad. However, under close scrutiny I am not so sure. The weight was 2.45g

Plating has been removed artificially, and it's Environmental Damage as well. It's a damaged coin.

Copper plating has been stripped off revealing the zinc core underneath. Interesting as a novelty, but only worth face value.

I think this one has zinc added over the copper. Note the rough surface? Note how the tops of the devices are smooth. That tells me it was altered and then circulated. If it were really missing the plating, then the fields would be smooth.

Note the top example of a non plated zinc cent.
