I found this quarter. Very odd. Rim has no reed like a standard quarter and is thicker like the same thickness of a nickle. Is this a planchet error and something to keep?
It's the beginning of a Dryer Coin, the rims got flattened out while it was rolling in a drier.
Nickel stock struck on quarter dies wouldn't have the copper core. Look at the nickel you have and youll notice the edge is all silver in contrast to your quarter's partially brown one.
