A US Nickel should be 5 grams. Yours may have wear or something else.

Don't think it's light enough to be aluminium
Rest in Peace

, put one next to another nickel and give a side shot too. It may be a thin rolled stock issue, which is no big deal. I have a bunch of older pre-war that read 4.7-4.9 and wear is standard not overly so.

If you can get pictures, that would help us determine what the issue is, with your coin.

At that weight, there is no way it is aluminum. It would probably be less than a gram, or near, in that case.

What year and mintmark is it? Wartime nickels have the same weight as all other Jefferson nickels, despite being 35% silver. It's tricky.

Pics of both sides would help!

Most likely a rolled thin planchet. If it was struck on an aluminum planchet of the proper size it would weigh 1.5 grams.

If the coin in question is the top center one in your last pic, then I believe it is normal copper-nickel composition, possibly rolled a bit thin and shows wear.

So, it is a normal coin.
