To CCF! Definitely Post Strike Damage (it happened after it left the U.S. Mint). Some type of punch was used, maybe a counterstamp punch?

To coin collectors, they prefer the mint condition coins, not altered coins.

Yes, that is PMD (post mint damage) not a mint error.

To Aquarian25queen: your coin was struck by a tool after it was minted. Others here were correct - it is just a damaged coin. Numismatic value is worthless, but as you have seen from the posts, its value lies in being an interesting conversation piece.
