I don't see anything. It's a normal coin.
Errers and Varietys.

John Wexler lists a 1920-D with a D over tilted D RPM. There is another 1920-D with a WSW-ENE diagonal line through the mint mark. To me, that one just looks like a die scratch, because I can't see any evidence of anything outside of the mint mark and because there are several other WSW-ENE die scratches near the date. Your photos are too blurred, but when I enhanced the obverse photo as much as I could, I think I saw similar die scratches to the left of the "1" and to the right of the mint mark.

When he uses the term rotated, he is referring to the mint mark punch being slightly rotated. Not turned 90 degrees. Those are horzontal mint marks. Like this one: Rotated means something like the illustrated ones I've setup years ago:

Thanks for posting the better photos. They really help!
I'm not sure what you have, but I think I can rule out two possibilities. With the clearer photos that you posted, your coin is not the Wexler D/tilted D RPM and is also not the 1920-D with the WSW-ENE die scratch that I mentioned upthread. Your mm is very close to the position of the Wexler RPM, but your mm is tilted very slightly toward the NW. The Wexler coin's mm is upright. The mm with the die scratch is slightly tilted to the NW, but the mm itself is located more to the west than yours.

My question is since it maybe neither of the possibilities, where do I go from here? Would the coin be worth getting it looked at to see if it is truly an error? Could it be worth the trouble?

If you could get some better images, you might submit them to John Wexler : His email address is on his home page: http://doubleddie.com/1801.htmlSee what he says?
