this looks interesting but I do not see anything indicating this is a mint error.
If you want 100% positivity Id get it looked at by a pro.

to me this looks like Die Deterioration Doubling in a unique area. not a true DDO

Id seek others opinions though see what the team says

The L is just damaged, the mintmark is weak due to die polishing.

Neither would be a error.

Or a partial Grease Fill on the mint mark. The damage to the 'L' is probably from a Gumball Machine that were popular then. (I know)
