@davejr7, first welcome to CCF. Second, it is a little hard to tell from this pic, but most likely just a counterstamp or other damage applied by someone after this coin left the mint. Any chance on posting an in-focus pic (not in the 2x2) for both the front and back? Thx.

I'd rather not remove the 2x2

More in focus pictures would help.
But I am leaning towards a strike through error

It looks like a pretty deep indentation (on the OP's coin). Can the front be hit that hard without a big lump showing on the back?

Davejr7 I'm leaning towards a strike through error also, but better pics are needed.

I'm with the struck through crowd. Don't see any misplaced metal from a hit. More in focus pictures are required to be sure either way.

I don't see any effects on the reverse, so struck-through seems reasonable. A clearer picture of the effected area will help. Value, if an error, is probably low.

You can sell it for @ $0.99 on ebay shipping included, meaning a 49 cent stamp, 5 cent envelope, @13 cents in fees, minus face value of coin... hmm, let's see... chinka, chanka, chunk... (my adding machine) equals a whopping profit of, tada! 23 fabulous cents. Do we have a winner? Gee, reality kinda sucks, don't it?

to CCF fellow Michigander. Value is what you can sell it for. Start the bid at 99 cents and see where it goes. John1

Here is an overlay to show where to look for the bulge. Looks like that area is affected. PSD
