I found this 1969 D LMC and everything I have learned tells me this is a DDR. I truly don't believe this is from over polishing because if it were then the same thing could be said about the 1969 D DDR that is listed. Insight is needed please.

Bay 4? That's most likely remains of a clash that wasn't polished away, was too deep in the design.

Yes sir the top of the bay. The only thing behind the second bay on the obverse is the field behind Lincoln's back. I have quite a few 1969 P's, D's and S's and nothing with that type of slanted beam. They all are horizontal.

Here are some pics of a normal 1969 D cent. The last pic is of the 1969 D in question.

I see nothing like this listed for this year Jim. Save it for now. I remember one year listed with a DDR on a similar area. Just not finding it now.

A clash shows nothing affecting in that area, but a die polishing for the 'TY' area may affect that area?

Eye4eye's coin shows a floating roof telling me the die was over polished.

So, if die was over polished... this is what caused the top of the bay2 to do that?

I contact Mike Diamond about this one, and he believes that it's a manifestation of Die Deterioration.
