1943 S Cent With Doubling - Looking For Help With What This Is?

So that is probably what you are seeing. Keep in mind the die and the planchets were steel that year. This made the dies wear a lot faster that the soft copper planchets. This is called Die Deterioration (die wear), caused by the die striking a lot of coins. For real Doubled Dies, go here and read about them. http://www.doubleddie.com Errers and Varietys.
