Okay, this is a weird one. I do not have Mitchiner or Göbl so I can only crawl around the web looking for something reasonably similar.

It appears to be a Kushan issue of Kanishka; with Bactrian? legend on one side. The other side features a deity (Nana? Oesho?) with a tamgha in the right field.

The die axis appears to be about 90 degrees. I tried to put these into what I think is the correct orientation.

Beyond that, I'm stumped. Thoughts appreciated!

Based on what I can make out of the Tamga (Pitchfork pattern) I agree with Paul.

That's one of the ones I thought looked close, but my coin seems to have much cruder detailing and a different legend on the "king" side.

Your coin appears to be a smaller denomination than the tetradrachms shown above. The usual obverse legend is ShAO KA-NHShKI ("Shah Kanishka"). The legend on your coin is a little cruder but is indeed the same, I think.

Ah, that's why. I think mine is the one more commonly called a "drachm." I have another Kanishka (Oado/Vado) drachm and this one is quite a bit nicer.

Thanks for all of the excellent information so far :)
