Very nice! I have always had a soft spot for Roman coins depicting Hercules. Yours has a really nice face, too... all too often these are lacking reverse detail, either from poorly trained engravers, or from dies being used well past their prime.

The patina really make the details stand out, very nice coin.

really nice coin! Great details. Hercules really has to get back to the gym - he's been skipping "arm day".

very nice this two coins , here we can see the results of the thermae and the body building in Rome . I think my coin is a little bit earlier as the coin of Palouche , but my picture is not very well... Arnodoe's coin has to be then a very late 243 coin .albert .

I have always liked the antoninianii of Gordian 111 for providing an introductory level into the building of a nice collection of Roman coins.
The prices are usually quite reasonable.

Thanks for the replies guys....Glad you like it... Quote: Hercules really has to get back to the gym - he's been skipping "arm day". Nice to see Hercules (AS Finn said) from a trained engraver and new dies....It really shows the posture of Hercules, strength confronting the enemy. Mine looks a bit like hes about to play a clarinet solo, albeit naked Paul
