Machine Doubling happens more on the edges of the devices. Just like your coin has. Very common. After the strike, the machine damages the devices. No premium. A doubled die has enlarged devices, not reduced devices:

Note how the devices are enlarged? Also note the spread lines are on the center of the devices, not on the outside edge of devices. Look for the enlarging on the centers, forget looking at the edges. If you have a doubled die, you should be able to spot it instantly. If you have to look for it, its not a doubled die.

To CCF! That's Machine Doubling, not a Doubled Die. Machine Doubling reduces the size of the devices, while a genuine Doubled Die increases the size of the devices. Unfortunately, Machine Doubling is a worthless type of doubling, and it's very common. Check out this website, if you want to see genuine Doubled Dies. http://www.doubleddie.com
