when in the mail arrives any lot of coins, there's always reason to be happy....    don't think the pictures show much, but I believe they are all AU or MS. I think the 1914 and 1915's were more likely to avoid circulation in view of WWI breaking out that time. some have ugly black toning while some have this golden toning. anyway, small stack today, hopefully a larger one tomorrow... or a few years. who can resist these lovely german silver coins after all? |

today I received a few german coins from a seller in Germany. a few things that caught my attention, apart from the fact that he refunded a difference in my invoice with a 5 usd bill, which still falls 1.24 usd short of making up 4.50 euros. underweight by .12 g  either a crack or signs of casting, I've no idea given my technical knowledge or lack of it...     the 2 reichsmark top right looks to have a fainter impression in hand, not sure if its visible here. I know there would be little reason to counterfeit these readily available pieces but after all, "the swastika sells", as someone on CC put it..  all in all, this has turned out to be the most perplexing of my packages so far, although it isn't necessarily a cause for great worry. just something I don't observe very often. any thoughts? |

and another thing, the edge letterings don't start at the same points. all of them totally differ. one of them is even upside down! cause for worry?

Awesome accusations everyone! My latest, ANACS EF-40 1853/1853 FS-301 RPD I thought it would be a nice pair for my 1853/4 FS-1301 .25 cent. I'd had my eye on it for some time now but was a buy it now on the bay for more than I wanted it for... my first American coin purchases not made because of free shipping or a good deal... ok maybe a little bit. the 1964 1/2 dollar and 1967 5 francs have a great deal of beautiful lustre not easily captured with the camera  |

thanks jbuck! extremely satisfied with these half dollars, especially the 1964. I only wish I could get a larger quantity, maybe even an original mint roll, but I wouldn't be able to enjoy their wonderful lustre, and of course, the $$$!
also, it just occurred to me that I've got 4 coins a century apart from the other ( the 5 pfennige 1862 and 1864 and the half dollars 1962 and 1964). interesting...
