Really cool coin Cdncoins.

I especially like the decision of the engraver to do something besides stars between LIBERTY and United States of America.

It's one of only a handful of coins to have a living person on it.

That's news to me; I was always under the impression that it was illegal in the US to depict a living person on a coin. Thanks for sharing.

Added this single Encased Coin, but I think more audience will get to see it here. Hopefully this is okay to post it here.

Some great additions all. Interesting story on the commemorative cdncoins. ASEs are always nice to look at too!

Added another to my Ike album. Bicentennial silver clad uncirculated.

My latest as of yesterday. This 20 Dollar Canadian Silver coin shows a WW1 soldier standing at a gravesite and Commemorates Flanders Fields.
Very significant to me as my Grandfather was killed nearby in The Battle of Loos in 1915 and although his body was never recovered or identified, he is one of 20,000 other unidentified soldiers commemorated at the nearby Dud Corner Cemetery.

@wannabfree: It's always nice to have a personal connection to the coins we collect, even when that connection is to a sad or difficult event.

The coin was definitely one of my favorite Royal Canadian Mint releases from 2015.

Here's a post I made about my thoughts on the coin: $20 2015 Flanders Fields.

macmercury - forgive me, as I have only seen a few of these through the years, but shouldn't "Ben" be an actual imperf single? There are no neighboring stamps/stamp edges visible...
