Just bought a 1951 Washington quarter today, tomorrow I'll pick up a '49 and a '52 (all proofs) Need to find a '50 somewhere. Anyway... More Kennedy's came in today. 1999-S silver to 2009-S Silver Back to photographing them and then to my Dansco albums..

Dearborn, Nice group of silver Kennedy's. Glad to see someone else collects these too. I am just finishing off my set of them too but I refuse to buy the 2010s-2020s clad proofs. I don't mind the premium for silver but I refuse to pay the premium for clad junk! Only one left that I need is the 2005s silver.

It also includes the 1980-S Clad proof with a mintage of only 99,998.. I'm happy with the price..

Quote: Got this 1898 Proof Barber Half in the mail today. The coin is by no means a perfect example Nice to have a Barber proof - I don't have any kind of old proof coin so I like them all. What do you think that black stuff is on the reverse?

Under a particular light angle, there is a ding just under the nose of Liberty. Like he has a dripping nose from having a cold.

NumisEd, many of the "purists" on this site probably wouldn't go for a details coin but I have to say that is a great Barber Half! Considering how worn most examples are, In my opinion to have anything with that much crisp detail is desirable. Congrats! Dearborn, With those Kennedy halves, I too have the clad proofs from '71-2009 but have you seen the cost of the clads from 2010 up? $15 or more for clad junk, what a scam!

I'll have to look at that.. Right now I'm back filling all my holes I have and upgrading the ugly ones and very early proofs...
