But that coin looks much more banged up then the one I bid on, and is more expensive too. I think the Moral of the Story is that if you are looking for proof Barber coinage and don't want to spend a lot of money, you have to consider Details coins. Oh yeah! they are all proof quarters. In addition I also bought a 1942 Proof quarter as well This one is slabbed by PCGS pr with details (a small scratch on obverse) I got this one for only $39.00. all in all I only paid just a hair over $150.00 for all 4 proof coins.. here is the '42: Collecting since 1972. I have all the Ike dollars proofs, working the the Kennedy half dollars and Washington quarters now, then I'll go for the Roosevelt dimes proofs. I'm rated at 90% currently with 1 more claim in the works.. If it weren't for the VA, I probably would not be able to afford it either..
