I have this 1985 D LMC and while I KNOW it is not a doubled die. I would like a little further education. I know that DDD shows movement towards the rim, I know that grease can flatten out devices. I know what MD is. My question is this, what causes a device to spread towards the center, grease? Thanks

Yep, that's definitely a little bit of grease. The grease widen the letters a little bit.

Yeah, that sounds like it, as you see the fatter part of the letters aren't as tall off the coins surface as the skinny parts are. So something got into the devices at their bottoms

If there are any circular scratches on the devices it maybe coin wrapper damage.
