I recently received a small silver statue while metal detecting a local park. It's over sterling purity but the jeweler's markings have been damaged. The LCS says they believe it's .999 fine. I have an offer to buy contingent on the removal of some black, gray and gold tarnish on the statue. What's the best, least invasive method of conservation for this?

Thanks, Everyone!

It sounds like you don't care about scratches on the surface. How about dabbing silver polish on it?

Yes a dip would work too. I would think that silver polish could be bought at Target or Walmart, but maybe not.
