I have a nickel that has a ring around the edge of the back cutting the letters in half. Looking at it through a magnifying glass the letter look a little bit like they were dragged if that is the best way to describe it. Like if you have wet paint and you take a pencil and drag the coloring. I took the best photos I could.

I just learned from another post that this could've been caused by a coin roller machine?

Probably from a coin rolling machine, but damage/PMD all the same

Either that or a bubble gum machine. They could tear a coin up.

Probably from a coin counter or a vending machine. But it is just damage. Not a plus for the coin.
