One week after release, and it is still not sold out at the RCM. That means it reach all levels of MC without selling out. Contrast that with the first renewed silver dollar that sold out in hours and others within a day or two.

It tells us several things. They made a big mistake in choosing this coin (which is not even a silver dollar) over the 1958 silver dollar and there is no great demand for this one. Secondly the mintage is way too high at 4000 coins. And 3rd, perhaps the number of MC members have fallen over the years and that may have contributed to no sell out yet.

It hasn't even sold out at Colonial Acres which is now selling it to the general public. They totally missed the mark with this one but can still redeem themselves with the 1958 or 1949 IMO.

I just realized this National War Memorial coin has been archived by RCM:

Did this coin even make to general public? It's strange to see RCM archived a coin so early.

Because it is an Exclusive Masters Club coin, I don't think the Royal Canadian Mint would have ever offered it to the general public.

I don't know if it ever made it the general public but it remained available for sale on the RCM site until near the end of January. In other words, it took almost 3 months for it to sell out. No doubt due to the high mintage of 4000 and unpopular design of the coin. If they had used the 1958 Silver Dollar design, the coin would have sold out much faster.

Everyone would agree about missed opportunity.
Without eliminating importance of a theme, the 2018 wasn't right time to "renew" this coin.
This usually happens, when some manager or director, thinks, that he smarter than others. Or...right amount of money to the right person.

I wonder if this one will be on the Coin Show? Last month there was at least one MC coin.

That was for the 2017 Renewed 1939 Parliament Coin. The 3rd in the series that did not do well in the aftermarket.
The same coin that was available at Walmart.

I highly doubt this half dollar will be there on TSC because it is too new. The RCM is not supposed to sell to the public until 45 days after release.
