Is this my first broadstrike or is this just some crazy post-mint damage?

@CH, we see this widening of the rim most often on Dryer Coins. I'm not 100% sure that this happened to your coin as well, but everything looks like damage to me.

Do dryers cause a raised, sharp rim as well?

Usually the edge has been rolled over by the time they are rescued and posted here. Let's see what others think about your coin--give it a couple hours for more folks to weigh in with their opinions.

Added: In the meanwhile, here is a super thread with lots of Dryer Coins pictured.

Not a Dryer Coin, the edges would be smooth and rolled.
Sure doesn't look a broadstrike either.
Looks like it has been chewed by a some sort of machinery.
Doesn't really matter what caused it, it wasn't done at the mint so it is PMD.

Information on what constitutes a broadstrike.

Just Post Strike Damage ( PSD). This Quarter has been beaten and mutilated. It's worth face value unfortunately.
