1961 Jefferson Nickel With Possible Mistake

I pulled out a coin collection I started as a child and have been having some fun looking to see what I had collected. I ran across a 1961 Jefferson nickel with a circular mark around the center of the back of the coin around the building. I do not know how to decipher possible mistakes made on coins, so I was hoping someone might tell me what caused the mark. Thank you in advance! Report this Post to the Staff

JimmyD Bedrock of the Community Canada 21601 Posts	Posted 11/05/2018 5:54 pm Hard to tell exactly what caused it, but it wasn't done during the striking of the coin so it is PMD (Post Mint Damage). Could have been a vending machine, parking Meter, etc. Also to the CCF Report this Post to the Staff
