In hand looks good. In picture ugh. Worth grading? I have no experience at all.

Worth grading?

While you have a valuable coin there (based on gold content alone) it is not worth grading. The 1901-S $20 Lib is considered a common date and as such really needs to be in Mint State condition to justify grading expenses.

Your coin appears to be a low AU condition and likely is worth its weight in gold (literally) and no more. It is worth about $1200.

The only reason to grade the coin would be to help it sell as there are a lot of gold fakes on the market and some buyers want a coin in a TPG holder for assurance. The grading will not add value as the coin is worth around melt.

Yes, that is the reason to grade. To make it easier to sell. Thanks all.
