Contact marks on the devices will micro flatten the devices. (not a good thing)

But how can every letter on the reverse have a contact mark making them all look like that?

If it were a collectable, it would need to be a high grade coin.

That sunken in look to all the letter is not MD. It has been discussed before but I do not remember the answer.

I always thought that is some weird kind of Die Deterioration but that's only my guess

On Die Deterioration on the Single squeeze dies, the doubling is more on the fields next to the devices. No usually on the tops of the devices except for the ridge rim obverses.

The sunken areas in the middle of the lettering is not Machine Doubling. There are threads about it on the CCF but I can't remember what it's called. Not a doubled die, at any rate.

No need to repeat what has already been said. Even I don't forget things that fast!
