Die Deterioration Doubling...notice the flow lines and how the letters are "stretched" to the rim.

On the tops of the PLURIBUS I see Machine Doubling. The over all size of the devices look normal. They should be enlarged on a doubled die.
Here is what you should see enlarged on a doubled die:

Note on the lower image, the shape of the dot on the EPU? The dot is egg shapped, what you would expect to see on hub doubling.

Note how all the devices on the lower image are enlarged. On of the things you look for on a doubled die.

Note on the wheat lines, the spread between the lines. Also they are larger than on the normal example. The doubling on the tops of the devices, not on the edges of the devices. On the edges are the areas affected by Machine Doubling after the strike.

Note the stems of the right wheat ear. Note how they are thicker than the normal example?

Note how the devices are enlarged compared with a normal coin? That is what you should see on a doubled die. Not flat shelf like alteration of devices after the strike:
This is what Machine Doubling looks like. Note the devices are damaged after the strike:

So looking at the edges of the devices will find more Machine Doubling. You need to see enlarged devices, not reduced devices. Like these:

Look at the overall size of the devices, not the edges. Look for the spread between the different hubbing. This doubling is on the die.

Hey coop, where do you find those pictures? They are super clear. I would like to study a few of them to better educate myself on doubled die spreading. Thanks!

Some I took, but the PCGS coinfacts site has very large images. I edit a lot of images from there. Check out the link to CoopHome and see more information on various threads that you will enjoy.
