So I came across this coin the other day and still have a chance to buy it. The coin is an 1876 CC quarter. The seller wants 180 for it, is this a good/okay buy? Here is a picture of it:

Very difficult coin to find in this grade. However, I wouldn't like it because it has been cleaned.

Were it me I think I'd pass on this one. For a couple of reasons. I'm not as opposed to cleaned early date coins as some others are on here, BUT the mintage on these is such that they shouldn't be exactly rare.

For example this one just sold on ebay for 110

It graded VF30 by PCGS and it doesn't look to be that much more worn than the cleaned one you've posted. (It's hard for me to grade cleaned coins... I like shiny things.)

The other reason why I'd pass is that for what it is I think it's a bit pricey. That said if this is the only thing keeping you from having a complete set then I'd say to get it and try to upgrade later. (I'd still try to get the price down some though)
