Interesting development on the packaging of the halves set. Error on packaging. Per CoinWorld article: "Approximately 70,000 units were shipped before the error was discovered," according to a statement released by the U.S. Mint the afternoon of Jan. 29. "Plans to reprint sleeves with the correct information are underway. Instructions for ordering corrected sleeves will be made available at a later date. We expect a delay in the shipping of remaining Half Dollar Set orders. Those orders will begin shipping as soon as the corrected packaging is on hand." |

Teach, Darth Morgan, Thank You both for Your posted pictures, I think the designs are Sweet  and pay Great deserved Honors to the Space Program, and those like President Kennedy,  Who did His part to get this job accomplished. So after much planning That day back in July, 1969 The first manned craft, APOLLO 11, Landed on the Moon. I was an Amazed and in awe 13 year old, Great times through My Eyes. I can't wait to see the coins in hand...... Enjoy Fellow Collectors..... |

So, the way I understand this is that once the corrected sleeves have been printed, those who have the incorrect ones can order the correct ones, but do not necessarily have to return the incorrect ones. If that is the case, neither sleeve will be scarce - the incorrect one had 70k or thereabouts printed and the new one will likely have at least 50k printed to account for those who got the incorrect one but now want a correct one for completeness' sake. I also think that the half dollar set will move to 'unavailable' status by the end of this week. |

Taking this incorrect packaging to the extreme: since the "originally correct" ones to be shipped will only be around 29-30k maybe you could send an unopened Mint shipping box to be graded and labeled " 2019 Apollo Half Set..Original Correct packaging"
....kidding....I think
..and why did't it go to backorder status when they decided to hold shipping until new packaging could be made?
The hold will give a little bump to the ER/FS labels

Ummmm....It DID go to backorder status...duh!
Shipping by March 18th...definitely will limit the ER/FS availability

The backorder status only popped up in the last few minutes. It wasn't there when I posted at 7am ET.

I feel bad for you ty if your package is coming smartpost in Indiana! I got a runaround for Christmas presents that I ordered that took almost a month to receive and came just two days before Christmas.

I will ask for the Corrected Version and put in the same Envelope with the Error Pamphlet > I just talked to the U S Mint Live Support, she said my Orders should arrive tomorrow ( Friday ) in 2 separate shipment by United Parcel Service ( Charlotte,N.C. ) and the Appolo Proof (5 ) Ounce are on backorder until May 1, 2019, I hope they are here before I go on vacation |
