Quote: If the Apollo half dollar were to be flattened out ... does anyone know what the resulting diameter would be? @captainrich The formula for the radius is: (H/2)+(W^2/8H) where: W = the length of the chord defining the base of the arc H = the height measured at the midpoint of the arc's base. And, of course, the diameter is just the radius times 2. You should expect a bit of distortion when you flatten your coin so the final diameter will probably differ a bit from the calculated value. Please post pics. (Of course you were joking, but I thought the forum might enjoy the answer...)

In other words, it still won't fit into my Dansco album.

It might fit if you took off the reeded edge with a bench grinder.

Quote: There are less than 19k of the two coin half sets remaining..... The Mint's 2/3/2019 sales report indicates 84,349 sold, up 15,194 for the week. At this pace, it shouldn't take more than another week (or maybe two if sales slow a bit) for it to be sold out.

Quote: What will the 2nd sellout be? Saucer? I'm not as confident as FM that there will be a 2nd coin sell out. The Kennedy half was pretty much a sure thing, IMHO the others are more questionable The 2/3/2019 sales report has the saucer at 63,598 (63.6%) and the half eagles at 31,933 (63.9%). So, they're both a little less than 2/3 sold. The back order status is probably hurting sales of all 3 coins. I don't see either the Apollo half dollars or Ag dollars ever being sold out, but time will tell.

Hello everyone I was told on two separate occasions from the US Mint that the 400,000 limit is across all silver options includes the 5oz silver. In other words for example if 100,000 of the 5oz coins are sold then only 300,000 of the silver dollars could minted. The website does state this here under (Specifications) at this link- https://www.usmint.gov/coins/coin-m...rsary-silver
