The back order status is probably hurting sales of all 3 coins.

Definitely hurting the saucers. Why order something that you won't see for 8+ months? At least May 1st for the gold is "only" 3+ months away but this one will probably ship earlier.

...and the mintage limits of the saucers have zip to do with the mintage of the regular PF's and Unc's

I can't imagine why the mint would state "Mintage Limit: 400,000 across all silver product options" if they didn't mean to include the 5oz coins. That would simply leave the two dollar coins. Of course it wouldn't be the first time that the mint put incorrect information on the website.

Alpha2814- I asked this question about mint limits regarding the 5oz and the silver dollars and got the same answer from two different people on two separate occasions. I specifically asked if 100,000 of the 5oz are sold would that leave only 300,000 to be minted for the Silver Dollar Coin. I was told that this is correct. I hope I wasn't fed wrong information.

Then let's go back to the text of the legislation: https://www.congress.gov/114/plaws/...4publ282.pdf

Quote:
(2) $1 SILVER COINS.—Not more than 400,000 $1 coins, which shall—
(A) weigh 26.73 grams;
(B) be struck on a planchet having a diameter of 1.500 inches; and
(C) contain not less than 90 percent silver.
...
(4) PROOF SILVER $1 COINS.—Not more than 100,000 proof $1 silver coins which shall—
(A) weigh 5 ounces;
(B) be struck on a planchet having a diameter of 3 inches; and
(C) contain .999 fine silver.

Your two sources are incorrect.

They actually state
Quote:
Mintage Limit: 400,000 (across all products)
NOT "all SILVER products". Products being the PF and Unc.

What is kinda weird though is under the 5 oz'er:

Quote:
Mintage Limit: 100,000 (across all products)
Product Limit: None

What other "products" are there to suck up that 100k?

Remember if going to flatten any coins to heat them up first with the blow torch for the annealing process.

Saucers are off to be graded....tomorrow the Apollo/Kennedy sets will follow accompanied by another group of Light Finish Kennedys. Still deciding on how many of those (Apollo sets) to send...I hate sending coins unseen. The saucers all looked great but the clad halves? No clue...

I should note...my shipments of 5 sets came in a nice tight shipping boxes from the Mint. The orders of 4 sets all came in MUCH bigger boxes with a lot of movement inside....should have just ordered in groups of 5 I guess

Last submission is also on its way back to me...another group of Light Finish Kennedy halves and some Innovation bucks...registered mail left on the 6th so who knows when they will arrive..(Florida to MA)

Any word yet on the joint Australian sets? Wouldn't want all those half dollars selling out first.

Most of my orders have come in oversized boxes with usually a piece of brown construction paper as a filler. I think if you ever do get a perfectly fit box with no movement it's purely accidental.

If the Apollo half dollar were to be flattened out ... does anyone know what the resulting diameter would be?
Depends on how slow the Locomotive is moving
