The mint marks were larger then and raised. Just a 1909 VDB.
Here is what the mint mark looked like then. Also the 'S' mint VDB had a different location on the dots on the V.D .B. The Philly V.D.B. had the dots in a different location:
The mint mark would not be that worn as compared to the wear on the rest of the coin. The wheat stalks are fully visible and you can still see hair detail on Mr. Lincoln.
This coin has a lot of remaining detail across all the devices. There is no trace of an S as it would be readily apparent on this coin were it a 1909-S.
