Can anyone make out with some certainty what the last digit on the date might be? Thanks!

It should be either a 5, 6, 8 or 9.

Hard to tell for sure when I enlarge and enhance your pic--maybe one with crisp focus would help? Maybe a damaged 8?

You can find examples of the 1846, 1848 and 1849 in CoinArchives if you search on Sweden 1/16 (of course the last digit here looks like none of them).

I see in the link to Numista there is an 1848 overdate. I suppose that could also be an option for an 1848 in which the last digit looks off?

Frankly, I believe this is a lost cause.

With the 1848 & 1848/5 minted @ 4 million plus, I feel confident that it is one of those.

Looks like an 8 to me.
