You know I don't remember this but I am more than grateful to the author for including my coin photos for his publication on brockage coinage. I always told my wife as much work as I put into photographing coins to sell I hope some of them end up being used somewhere else. So this was nice to see! (Mine are the ones you see on my ancient brick I use with a roman fresco painting that I use as the back drop to photograph all my coins. To rock is in a box I hold in the air and move between three incandescent lamps at my desk until I see the photo lighting I want. The end result is the coin just looks like it is sitting on some ancient surface but is always lit quite well.)

Well done--your pics highlight an important reason for brockages. In reading this article, it sounds to me like Peter Lewis is saying that higher value coins are struck with more care and therefore fewer errors such as these brockages make it out of the mint. I can see a certain logic to that line of thinking, but had not heard that before.

It's a nice feeling when someone appreciates another's coins so much as to use them in a book or article.

That's very cool, Joe. Congratulations. I just had one of my ('til now) unpublished Elymaeans published. Indeed a nice feeling.

Fyi, The Celator devoted a couple of articles to minting errors, including those in the December 1994 and April 1995 issues.

In case anyone is interested here's a link to the '95 issue, containing the article "Ancient Minting Mistakes": https://community.vcoins.com/celator-vol-09-no-04/
