Good evening all. First off, I have to apologize for the pictures. I spent 2 days taking pictures, and these are the best I can get.
My question is, would you consider these highlighted areas to be die chips? They are all raised. You can actually feel them just by running your finger over them. I am slowly going through my coins by inspecting each one under this cheap microscope that plugs into my PC. (It's all I can afford right now, being unemployed.)
Secondly, do these characteristics add any collectible value to the coin? Not just monetarily, although I could really use a high dollar find right about now. (Couldn't we all)

Yes--good eye.

Of course some people collect coins with die chips, but I don't think that there is enough here to dramatically add to the coin's value. You could save it until you find a better example or spend it (as you prefer).

Thank you. I have a couple of dimes like this. I'm just glad that I found something on my own. That's the most exciting part to me.

Those are definitely small die chips. There's also one to the right of FDR's eye and probably more elsewhere on the reverse amongst the oak/olive leaves.
