Best Guess about the Luster: Poor storage conditions.

If there are traces of rub on the obverse, I don't see them. Cheek, boobs, and other common places look clean to me from these pictures. Reverse looks clean too except maybe the tops of wing tips or eagles brow. Pictures lack luster but it's probably the pics. I would say MS based on the pics without inhand inspection. At least for the technical grade.

I don't even see anything that I would classify as rub on the knees.

Feel free to tell me if I need a seeing eye dog.

It looks like a Mint State coin in these images. Even with the impaired luster the eye appeal is good and the strike appears to be very good. I think it has a shot at MS63.

This is what I thought and I do not see any rub at all either. It was on ebay for $350.00 and I was considering buying it when I originally posted.

Wowzers! Bet it didn't last long at that price.

I found the completed listing for those interested in high resolution images.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1844-Liber...047675.l2557

It was sold by Aercus Numismatics and listed as "Uncirculated" but with a BIN price of $350 (AU+ money).
