Ok so I received this book of Great Britain coins in the mail today and in it was this one marked Copper 1790. Well obviously from the condition there is no way to date it. But I know you UK experts will have a good Idea of what it is.

it is 36.5mm and 26.86gm

In this condition, of course, it isn't worth much, but it's a one-year type, so the date can, in fact, be determined - it's 1797.

Yes, definitely a 1797 George III penny, possibly even worse than the miserable example I was just about to post when I saw this thread. The cavities on the obverse are weird - perhaps it was used as a drill bit stop?
