Hello all,
I am new here, and wanted to know if this particular coin I had is authentic or not. I did a bit of research, and managed to find that it is (or is a reproduction of) a 1652 coin from New England. Any other identification would be helpful.
@RM, first welcome to CCF. Second, with a coin like this, I would always assume that it is fake until you can prove otherwise. For sure it looks cast which is a problem. For completeness, can you please also post the weight?

Porous surfaces, punches don't match, and frankly it's too round. The silver was either beaten out or rolled and the planchets cut out by hand then clipped to get the right weight. And after they were issued the people clipped them as well. In geneal they just don't come round.
