@Willburton, yes looks wicked shiny. Grading these things was never one of my strong suits, but I wonder why the fields seem to be so rough. Was this coin plated?

It's definitely FS-1101, which is a great pickup!
But unfortunately it looks cleaned.

I hope it's not cleaned but it is very shiny. I'm going to take a chance on it. The seller has several other 1909 cents listed and it's color is the same as the others.

@wilburton, consider asking the mods to move this thread over to the us modern coin grading section. Those dudes really know their stuff.

I looked at this thing as close as I could and it seems like another cent hit it at 12:30 and 6:30 flattening the St of TRUST and possibly damaging liberty as well. We'll see. I don't have much in on it, and really don't want it to have been cleaned.

Nice variety...but it does in deed look cleaned.

Post some pics when it arrives. The lighting in these images makes it tough to grade.

Yea I'll post better pics when I get it. I was excited and wasn't expecting the possibility of "cleaned". Looking at the sellers other coins, some are obviously cleaned but some look good to me. Thanks guys

If a sellers coins all have the same color often the coins will grade questionable color in my opinion. While it is a very nice coin, the fact that the color seems off for the date, matches his other coins, and is not slabbed makes me think you should not yet get too excited. Now if you picked it up for a Details price then that is another story!

Coin appears to have been polished. I'm betting it has no cartwheel luster. As the others have said, when ALL of the sellers coins look the same, that's a huge red flag! GOOD LUCK!

Shoulder seems pretty banged up, but that could just be bag marks. Not convinced it's been cleaned. I'd like to see different pics as well, but tentatively I'd say 63RD straight.

Hard to tell from these photos if it is original or cleaned.
