Don't know much about bills but I just held a $20 note certified by PMG. I remember seeing the words "almost new" on the top right and heard the number 69 (MS69 ?)being uttered. The dealer said that this is the finest known example of this bill.
It was beautiful. Edges are all razor sharp and corners are perfect. Paper looks like it just left the mint. Too bad I wasn't able to take a picture.
They are thinking of using Bowers auction. Any idea how much it's worth ? From the looks of the dealer, this was probably worth LOTS. I just feel honored to be able to touch and look at this bill up close.

I have not seen allot of PMG graded bills and have never seen the "almost new" designation but I have seen stuff like PPQ for Premium Paper Quality and stuff like that. As far as a value on something like you are talking about, I have no idea what it could be worth

If it's 'about new' it's probably worth $4-6K. If it's 'new' maybe 10 times that based on my price guides.

If it is the finest known, then I think it would have to be better than about new.

I wish I knew more about bills prior to seeing it. Again, I was browsing the nearby display the majority of the time this was happening and I only heard numbers being tossed around. I did see some insurance policy being taken out for the note and it was $35k.
