I don't know about the "ragged clip" coin, but the first is a double clip.

Thank you Spruett001! On the second coin, it was a challenge to get good pictures, because there was no sunlight left, since it was nighttime when I took these pictures.

Since the planchets are punched out of sheet copper, I see no way that the blank could have been punched from a sheet of copper and create that that type damage. It looks like maybe PSD from a heat source. JMHO Dan

A closer view might help. There does appear to be some contact on the reverse rim area.

E&V Looks like a ragged clip to me. As I'm sure your aware I posted a ragged clip about 2 years ago and went through the heat damage, electrical arc etc. analysis. It appears to me that you do have a ragged planchet. Here is the post of the one I found. http://goccf.com/t/254152Note that this was confirmed as a ragged planchet or incomplete planchet by Mr Diamond. Your error appears very similar and I believe would have the same attribution. EDIT: BTW very nice find. They are rather/very rare to find .

Quote: Those penny's are worthless there still in circulation I don't quite understand what you mean, @Dowelljerry221. Can you clarify?

Quote: Those penny's are worthless there still in circulation I have never found one "in circulation". The one I found was from an uncirculated OBW roll. If a ragged planchet made it into circulation, it's freedom would be short lived because they are so obvious.

Dowelljerry221, what you said is completely incorrect and false. Even if they're circulated and have a Clipped Planchet, they're still worth a couple of dollars. Some of them (especially the Ragged Edge Clip), are in Mint State Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Later on, I'll retake the pictures of the Ragged Edge Clip on that 1961 Lincoln Memorial cent. Thank you for the help everyone!
