to the CCF! That is the large date. You made mention of it being a Denver cent, where is the D? Your cent was minted in Philadelphia.

That is a Small Date Philadelphia Cent

There is much information to be found on coins by using the sidebar.
For instance by typing in 1982 Small/Large date in the Search Forum,
you can find out how to easily identify the difference between the two.

On the small date the the top and bottom part form a straight line on the small date. On the Large date, the horizontal bar extends further east of the rest of the '2'.

Never noticed the alignment of the 2 before coop. Always learning something new.
I like simple so my PUP is the top of the 8.
If the opening at the top is smaller than the bottom, it is a Small Date.
If the openings are the same size, it is a Large Date.
