A fellow co-worker, who knew I liked coins, asked me to help ID this ancient coin. He found it while Geo-tracking...and it's really beat up. The coin holder was labeled: Constans 337-350. Problem is, when I tried to ID it, the legs on the back are going the wrong way...or the face on the front is the wrong way. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could be Constans, could be Constantius - you might be able to tell in hand. The letters to the right of the emperors head will say '*VS PF AVG' if it is Constantius II, and '*NS PF AVG'. The bust shows the emperor holding a globe. The reverse is FEL TEMP REPARATIO (something along the lines of 'Happy times are back') and shows the emperor striding left over two captives, like this:

Hot linking to Wildwind images will not work.

With clear photographs, we could probably make out the mint mark and pin down the emperor a bit better. If you'd like to try that with it in hand, go to the Wildwinds page for Constans and try to match up the mintmark and legend to a listing and it will tell you the reference number.

A clear image of the reverse would helpus identify the mint too

I believe that I can see enough to say it is Constantius II.

I have a few of these. This one is from Antioch.

Thank you so much for the help!! I believe it matches with the image shown. I would send more pictures, but it is really worn, and I cannot make out the letters. The best picture I can take is in similar quality to the ones on the bottom. the pics at the top are using my phone...it's broken. Thanks again!! So is the name of the coin: CONSTANTIUS II w Captives 348AD Antioch?

Probably is Constantius II judging by the length of the obverse legend, but we can't make any claim about where it was minted without seeing what the mint mark is. I'd write it up:

Constantius II
DN CONSTANTIVS PF AVG (Constantius, draped and diademed left, holding globe) // FEL TEMP REPARATIO (emperor standing left, holding labarum and shield, two captives, kneeling and leaning left before him)

The parentheses reflect the fact that these legends are seen with different designs.
