I'd like your opinions on the grade of this coin - I'm thinking Very Fine (number?) or Extra Fine (number?) but I can't make up my mind. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

I take it that's a scanned photo? It's so hard to tell things like potential luster, and all, when viewing a scan. The whole coin looks to be the same color, for the most part. If I had to GUESS (and it's a guess) until someone with more knowledge comes along, I would think EF-45 based on the wear patterns

Yes, it's a scan. I would point out that the black horizontal mark (obverse) is not a gouge in the surface - just a black mark.

I agree with EF, though I'm leaning toward EF-40.
