Hello. I have come across this 2015-D, that looks very odd. The obverse looks to be a Dryer Coin or someone's science experiment, but what about the reverse? Is it improperly annealed? A result of what happened with the obverse? I'm not sure of anything with this coin. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you and happy hunting!

Zinc and copper cents were not annealed. They are soft enough to strike with out this process. So you coin may have been altered after it left the mint. Who knows? The coin knows.
It looks very much like a Dryer Coin, rubbed surfaces and with the heat effect showing on them.Look at the inner edges of the Rim particularly at 9:00 o'clock.
