Hey everyone,

Found this coin and wondering if anyone encounter this multiple die chips before or could shed some light if this is a common or rare error.

Please note that these photos are taken while the coin is in a 2x2.

There is 3 chips on the reverse, and there is another possible 4th small chip on the left side of chair "Between small girl and old lady sitting on the chair" it's a pretty small so could not confirm at this point.

On the observe side, there is a chip on the queen's nose. Looked like she got a mole

I suspect that there is also minor rotated/upset error(10-20 degree) on this coin however I'm not sure how to check it. Could someone shed some light on this too please.

I am planning to keep this coin in my collection because it's my first encounter with so many die chips error and it's in a good condition after 9 years in circulation. However I am also curious if I plan to trade or sell this coin, what would be a fair value?

Thanks everyone for your time

Those are die chips not Cuds. Cuds always include the rim, when only on the rim it is called a rim Cud and when it starts on the rim and goes into the fields of the coin it is called a Cud.

Hi John,

Thanks for pointing that out. I still have lot to learn.

I was confused between the difference of die chip and Cud. Because the "$1 rabbit ear" is sometimes called a Cud error too.

This particular coin is known to have many errors on it. In addition to the ones noted, there are die chips on the left side of the left girl's dress and the 'A' of Age is sometime filled.

Thanks for the info Nancy

I was hoping it to be a rare error so I could trade and compile my other coin list in the future
