1. There is no such thing as unsearched 2. Those cents were put in the bags a week ago 3. The feedback is either bogus or planned from friends that bought some 4. This is a vindictive sales tactic that 98.7% of the time yield nothing 5. enjoy

"There is no such thing as unsearched" Exactly...unsearched wheats are a rarity, hardly something sold in any quantity outside of Granny's jar in the attic. Funny...a year ago, I bought an "unsearched" bag from an eBayer using that same photo. I was naive back then. It was obviously searched, mostly 40s-50s with a few nondescript earlier Lincolns thrown in--something was off on the date spread. Big skip.

I'd say pass if for no other reason than you would be paying about 10 cents a coin, which is pretty pricey for wheat lots. That's twice as much as I would plan to spend on these.

I agree with the sentiment in this case. However, in general even truly unsearched groups will contain many more 40s and 50s than earlier dates due to the numbers minted and the idea of saving cents in a jar rather than using them for purchases became more common as things valued for a cent such as candy or gum or a 3¢ stamp disappeared from use. A local "hoard" in my area would have more "d" mint cents than the others due to service area.

I wouldn't have done it just because I have a simple rule that forbids me from dealing with sellers who make their listings 'private.' If I can't see what they have sold in the past, I won't buy from them in the present. Saves me a lot of hassle in the long run, I think.

If that was real, the bank would have filled out all those fields. The bag looks too new for 20 years. I don't think there would be 1000 wheat pennys in one bag from 1988, won't it be mostly memeorials?

They have tons of these auctions... I haven't touched one yet, but in my few years of forum lurking, I have yet to find someone who reeled in a good catch. Honestly, I wouldn't try it.
