@Mro, as it isn't clear from your pic, could you confirm whether or not this region is raised or inset compared to the field of the coin? Also, could you please add an overall pic of the coin?

Looks like a dropped letter to me.
Probably from the "T" in TRUST.
Nice find . Don't see too many of them.

With the gouge in the coin it pretty much removes the collectable value of the coin. Even the slightest injury really remove the value.

As Coop stated, whether or not there is infact a dropped letter is rather moot because the post mint damage obliterates the value.
