this should actually be filed under 'shake your head moments', but I just found that I made an error when I was numbering-out the weeks until black friday, incorrectly noting it on my calendar (duh). error corrected; 4 weeks 5 days until black friday. my original noting of the cycle's completion was that it would end on november 22, one week before black friday, so I shorted myself a week on the calendar. running total going into tonight is $335.64, so I'm pretty sure i'll clear $345 by middle of next month. ending the cycle in the $355-$360 range would be great.

Yup, November starts on a Friday this year, so Thanksgiving is the latest it can be. tonight I found more than $1 for only the 5th time in the month of october, picking $1.15 in well-scattered change. a water machine provided three quarters, the 'score of the night'. the daily average for october was $1.05. exactly 4 weeks until black friday. november has finally arrived. it has been a long year and a long cycle, one of the longer cycles, in fact... the first cycle wasn't this long.

Excellent news on all fronts, MrPink - there's gold and silver in your future!
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

Quote: there's gold and silver in your future a little bit, probably. Quote: and I love your record keeping too this year pales in comparison to last year. I think this project peaked last year, now it's gone over a cliff. referring of course to nightly finds, they're way down... lower nightly totals combined with rising metals costs equates to a longer cycle. that's a drag all by itself, but I also figure into the equation all of the attached aggravations-- mainly rain and 'interlopers' (there are several types of interloper). those are things I have no control over and cannot change. I'm more tolerant and forgiving of the weather than I am of people hanging around the areas I want to search. unless something changes for the better over the next two months I may abandon this project at the end of the year. it's becoming not worth my time. I'm okay with changes, they'll come whether I want them to or not, but where one door closes, another will open, and I'm really just waiting for the other door/s to open somewhere. to a certain extent I've become bored with it, to be honest.
