Quote: I haven't found a single cent on the ground! ...there will be more, if not there then elsewhere. vigilance! Quote: My roommate found 2 folded $100 bills the other night on a walk outstanding! I think there is more paper on the ground than most ppl realize. Quote: I figured with my new part-time job at a storage facility, I'd find more than I have so far. patience pays! you'll see! Quote: Just picked up a Honduras 1 Lempira note from the sidewalk in Roatan, where my cruise called today. It has a face value of about 5 US cents! cool! a paper nickel... last night I popped my door open at midnight to head out for the nightly ride & cat-feeding only to discover it was raining. that pretty much squashed the hunt for money, although I did find sixteen cents somewhere along the route. my only objective last night upon seeing the buckets of rain come down was finding & feeding the cats. I waited for the rain to stop, about 15 minutes, and then headed out. it was a short, sloppy-wet night. I will try again tonight. there's no rain in the forecast tonight.

LOL, I'm under pressure tonight, tomorrow night & saturday night; low pressure, moving over the northern gulf, it's gonna pull a bunch of moisture up to florida as it heads up the east coast.. gusty wind & potentially torrential rain in the forecast, flood watch from 5am friday to 5pm saturday.. joy.. finding & feeding my cats will be priority, coin hunting only as weather & time permits.. my finds may be minimal-to- zero tonight, tomorrow night & saturday night not the type of weather we usually see this time of year, it had better not jam me up, I have 2 jobs about ready to start, potentially tomorrow.. I'm expecting rain delays, tbh.. c'est la vie... edit, 1:51am i left my place minutes after I posted the above babble and I wasted no time getting to everywhere that I needed to ahead of the rain. I found & fed all cats an hour early, found seventy-four cents along the way, skipping the large shopping center parking lots, and was home after exactly one hour... and I beat the rain by just several minutes. seventy-four cents-- much better than zero-- is pretty decent for rushing thru only 66% of the route under threat of t-storms. they are rolling over us as I peck away at this edit.

At last! Back off the lovely cruise ship today. Went to Wal-mart in Galveston. Found two Lincoln shield cents - one on the floor inside the store and the other in the parking lot.

Quote: Found two Lincoln shield cents - one on the floor inside the store and the other in the parking lot. i love this. I'm cleaning up on an island. NumisRob floats from place to place & cleans up wherever the ship docks. DiscoLover82 is cleaning up on campus and I think helder is still walking the dog and cleaning up the neighborhood, plus westcoin is now cleaning up at that new job. LOL! we do the world a service by picking up all of the coin litter that we can find. well, I found much more than I thought I would the past two nights. I was prepared for the rain event to wreck those nights for finding the cats & finding the coins. in between bouts of rain I found all cats each night & fed them and picked up more coins than I figured would be available. last night I picked $1.41: 4 quarters, 4 dimes and just 1 zincoln. I skipped all the big parking lots at the shopping centers, no point in looking. glistening pavements- wetted by rain- are no good. the glistening wetness provides a kind of camouflage for wet coins, they can be difficult to see. the coins I found last night were at other areas that are better to search on a rainy night. I was right on top of the coins as I found them, I didn't have to scout for them. so, again I had a quick night and got home just minutes before the next bouts of rain. sloppy riding, but I didn't get soaked. two days of rippin' t-storms, tonight ought to be dry & quiet. spring break saturday night... after two abbreviated nights of pickin' there ought to be much more than usual for me to find in the areas I skipped. I will hit those places tonight. I think there'll be numerous zincolns tonight.

i did as well tonight as I thought I would. I picked $2.40 in well-scattered change, plus another Canadian dime, this one dated 1952-2002. 6 quarters, 6 dimes, 3 nickels and 15 zincolns. well done. that makes $8.44 for the week, which is excellent considering there were 3 rain nights this week, and one of those nights (monday) was a big wet zero. great. time for a cup of earl grey & cat-on-lap time before bed.
