i picked eighty-seven cents last night, plus a big bottle of water (which will be used to make sun tea; too hot outside for coffee, it's now iced tea season ), an unopened gallon of milk (found outside of publix; after taking it home & chilling it overnight I discover it passes smell & taste test, it didn't sit out long enough to spoil ) and a partial roll of large black plastic trash bags. those are very handy, I ran out of those weeks ago. I found & fed all my cats and managed to get home before the rain started. it is still raining at 2pm, which is great. we haven't had any rain in several weeks. good for the plants and helps bring down the remaining falling leaves from the gumbo limbo trees. without rain or wind those trees shed their leaves very slowly (in the spring rather than fall). so I'm stuck indoors until the rain stops. |

Well done!  Been a long time since I made sun tea. The glass gallon container I used was the victim of gravity and the only other containers I have now are too opaque. |

i use mason jars, usually 3 at a time, for brewing sun tea. provides me with just enough tea for the week.

Good idea! I need to dig out some of the old mason jars hiding in the hard to reach corners of the kitchen cabinets. Assuming they are still there.  |

i have a small fridge. there's no room for a huge jug. mason jars solved that. I hope it works for ya, jbuck. |

It became the "pop fridge" to free up space in the big one in the kitchen. My wife gave up the diet Coke, so right now it just holds my supply of Pepsi Zero Sugar and some chilling water bottles I used to fill my flask for hikes, field trips, office visits, etc. There is certainly room for some mason jars now. among tonight's pickins were several 2024 zincolns, I'm beginning to find them regularly now. one of them was absolutely trashed by road & traffic.
