Very much interested in the history of this note, particularly in who the two women featured on it are. If anyone has any information, or knows where I can find such information, please share.

I'm unable to furnish any history but can steer you in the right direction.

The women are probably generic allegorical engravings. This website is dedicated to Rhode Island currency, and may have some answers for you. http://www.ricurrency.com/bank-name...-providence/

Apparently there is a niche web site for everything. Wow.

Thank you Steve, I did already see that website. While the information regarding the longevity of the bank was useful, it didn't shed much light on my other questions

United States capitol is pictured in the middle. Old design of the building. A combined engraving by Jocelyn, Draper, Welch & Co and ABNCo. The women are likely allegorical engravings like Steve mentioned.

Generic female figures are found on the vast majority of obsolete banknotes. This one is more interesting for the vignette of the US Capitol building, before the Rotunda dome was built.

The figure on the left is probably Columbia based on the shield and sword.
